We are thankful to Claudia Folts and her colleagues at Tutu.Com for their kind support.
Tutu.Com, the world-wide leader in teaching and creating beautiful costumes, welcomes you to our TutuSchools for a magical journey through the art of creating beautiful professional-quality Classical and Romantic tutus, and other ballet costumes.
At TutuSchools, you will learn everything you need to know to create your own professional tutus, dance dresses, men’s costumes, and headpieces, from time-honored costume shop techniques to proper fit and pattern alteration, as well as design and ballet-world dos and don’ts.
Tutu.Com teachers, all top ballet industry designers, pattern-makers and technicians, will lead you step-by-step through this fascinating process. They will generously share their knowledge amassed through years of working in the top ballet costume shops and companies, with professional dancers and directors, and with IBC (International Ballet Competition), Prix de Lausanne, and YAGP (Youth America Grand Prix) competitors.
Our teachers and lecturers are all working professionals with clients ranging from New York City Ballet, The Joffrey Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Moscow Ballet, Houston Ballet, Gelsey Kirkland’s Studio Company, Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on CBS, and shows on Broadway and television.
TutuSchools are held yearly in New York City; Southern and Northern California; Charlotte, NC; and in Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne, Australia.
TutuSchool is also held at the International Ballet Competition in Jackson, MS, every four years, with Project Tutu, the only tutu design competition and fashion show in the world. We are in the process of adding TutuSchools locations in New Orleans, San Francisco and Europe.
